Testimony of my Faith

If you have looked around my blog you will see that I have a link to the Mormon.org website. I have been LDS (nicknamed Mormon) ever since I was born. I never really had my own testimony until my freshman year of high school in 2009. My Dad lost his job around Christmas time and we had no idea what we were going to do. WE moved to Wenatchee in Feb. of 2010, and that changed my life! But still I didn't know for myself if the Gospel was true. I read the scriptures every day, I went to mutual (youth group) every Wednesday and church on every Sunday. It was girls camp last year (2011) that it really hit me that this Gospel is true! As a YCL (youth camp leader) we always put on a devotional/fireside night towards the end of camp. So that day we were practicing out songs and our parts and the weather was HORRIBLE! It was cloudy and it kept drizzling and we just didn't know if we were going to be able to do the fireside that night. But then, we started to sing one of the songs, and the clouds cleared and the sun came out. It was so beautiful, I couldn't help but realize that there is a God, and he loves and knows me personally. And I discovered that I loved him back, while all my heart, mind and soul. I haven't had any huge trials since my freshman year other than deciding what I should major in, but I still feel His love for me every day, even if I don't notice it right then. I love the Church and My Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I love Joseph Smith. I love my Church leaders, and ward family. I love the Prophet and his counselors. I thank Him everyday for what I have been given, but that's not nearly enough. I can never repay the debt Christ has paid for me, and for that I am eternally grateful.
We are watching Star Wars in my mythology class!!! YAY!

Random Writing Prompts! and more on College!

So I have finally decided that I am going to Major in Secondary English Education and I will be Minoring in Journalism! My logically job after College would be a High School English teacher (which I would love) But my dream job with these knowledge skills is a Traveling Writer/blogger/journalist. So with that in mind, I have been working on my writing skills! So here is a random piece that was written in less than 5 minuets and has not been edited! Enjoy!

Once upon a time there was a princess. She lived in a magical land, but she was terribly lonely! One day while she was out walking near the pond in her back gardens, she heard a voice. Now this voice was croaky and ribbity! She started down into the shallow waters of the pond and out jumped a frog! Her natural reaction was to scream, but the frog was the only individual she had ever been allowed to encounter on her own, so she swallowed her scream and said "Hello, dear Frog. How may I help you?" The frog looked at her in amazement. Normally people just ran from him. He looked up at her and said "I'm just like all the other frogs, bald, green and slimy! I want to be different!" So with that they went into the castle and the princess and the frog visited the princess’ royal beauty assistant! "Hello royal beauty assistant!" The princess said. "I need you to make this frog a nice wig! He doesn't enjoy being bald anymore!" Then they left. The Beauty assistant was so shocked by the princess’ behavior he decided to inform the King and Queen. However they were out on a business trip, so the Assistant had no choice but to make the wig. He thought long and hard about what color would please the delusional princess, and he eventually settled with blonde, the color of the princess’ golden mane. So the Princess' royal beauty assistant made the frog a nice blonde wig. It was a nice round and curly afro looking wig with a nice sage green bow in it. The Princess brought her new friend back to the Assistant’s room and they tried the wig on. It fit perfectly! The Princess jumped up and squealed in delight! Her new friend could now be different! But she realized that when the frog went back to his friends and family, she again would have no one. But being the good person that she is, she took the frog back to the pond where he jumped in while saying “Thank you dear Princess! I will forever be in your debt!” And with that he was gone! The sad Princess returned to the castle where she sat in her chambers and mourned the loss of her friend.  When the frog returned to the other frogs they were all in awe of the bald frog that was no longer bald. But he still didn’t feel different. Now he remembered when he was human, wait HUMAN?! “I’ve never been human have I!?” thought the frog. But the more he thought the more odd memories came back to him! “I was human!” he cried and with a leap he hopped out of the pond and onto the bank of the pond where the Princess was. “Kiss me!” He cried. “If you do, I will become human again!” The Princess cried with delight and clapped her hands together! She swooped down and scooped the frog up, held him to her face and gave him a big smooch. POOF! There was a cloud of purple smoke and there stood a handsome young Prince. After that the Princess and the Frog Prince lived happily ever after! And yes, the Prince had curly blonde hair.
